Our Product When My Name Is Keoko - Children Version
This is our final product . We had bind it together , colour , paste on the texture , pop-up and added some 'Push' and 'Pull' effect. We could not upload all our pencil sketches as we did not take picture of it as we follow the wrong instruction the previous time. Hope you guys would enjoy.

Overall , we think we did quite a good job as we really enjoy making this. Although some of the part and pages we still think that its not good enough but still we learnt a lot from this.

We Are Extremely Very Good Recyclers By Lauren Child
The quirky mixed media artwork, combining photography, watercolors, and collage results in vibrant and highly entertaining illustrations. The characters, all drawn as a child might, with almost stick figures and large heads exhibit lots of emotion. We decided to use this book as a guide as this book is a very good book. It teaches children to recycle and the usage of the colour is vibrant. We decided to try out on it and follow. We wanted to create a book that is like this book which teaches some moral and about life. We also tried to follow the usage of colour as vibrant colour tends to attract childrens attention and it lead them to be very curious and interested in it.
We also found some research on pop up books.

We added this ideas in our books after we watch them because we think that its quite interesting and perfect for children as they would find it more attractive and they would be curious about it .

Week 2 Progress Report

New Story Outline
Once in a sunday morning,
the cold wind just blew lightly,
lightly over the spring morning,
Tae-yul came out of the house.
Just to see 2 soldiers out,
"May I help you?" he asked kindly,
"We want this tree to be chopped right now!"
Tae-yul could only bow and said,
"Yes, Sir. It must be chopped down now!"
Timid and young Sun-hee then came out,
only seeing her brother out,
Omoni had sure heard that,
as she walk down with her apron now
All of a sudden a little voice tingle out,
"Please, please i beg you, don't chopped me down!"
by this sudden jingle bell-liked sound
They then find out this voice came from,
a little young Sharon tree
Then the soldiers came back through,
seeing all the trees still intact
Tae-yul then started to chop the tress down,
the big and old at the of the tiny tree!
They transferred the small tree into a ceramic pot,
covering it with a black cloth
"We shall hid it here in the shelves,
where no one would ever find out!"
Omoni exclaimed with this,
and Sun-hee clapping joyously now
In the year 1945, the Japanese occupation has
finally ended
"We shall plant the tree back in the backyard!
This tree of us, this tree of us."
"Hi there, lam the tree!"
"This tree of Korea! This tree of us!"
Abuji and Uncle exclaimed excitedly,
where they stood with smile so bright
May they live in laughter and joy
The Kim family, shall live happily-ever-after!

How our story is linked to the novel:
Our story is linked to the story book by several events that happen. All of this events are quite similar. In the novel, the ending was pretty sad as Uncle did not come back, but for our storybook, Uncle will be back and they will lived happily ever after. Most of the events are still the same, just that we'll replaced the words with pictures and some decriptions.

The Outline of Story:
(1940)
We'll start the story with the Kim family in the house picking their Japanese name. This was the part where Uncle was angry. At the thought of looking at Uncle's enraged expression, Sun-hee, the youngest in the family, thought of the Olympic Games held in 1936, Europe.
She remembered Uncle was angry at the Japanese for changing the name of the Korean runner. He was so outraged that he change the name of the runner on the Japanese newspaper. Uncle was badly beatened by the Japanese then.
The story then goes by a year.
(1941)
It'll start in a day when all the koreans were ordered by the Japanese to cut down the Sharon trees in their house. But Omoni asked Tae-yul to digged out a tree that Omoni planted a few years ago and placced it in an old ceramic pot. And so, they hid the small plant in the tool shelves.
(1942-43)
One day, Tae-yul was riding his bicycle in a fast speed. Two Japanese soldiers saw him and took it away. Abuji, who was beside him did not try to stop the Japanese soldier. This made Tae-yul greatly disappointed and upset with Ahbuji.
(1942-43)
Later that year, Sun-hee's friend, Tomo told Sun-hee to keep a look out for all the metal-made furniture and tools in her house but Sun-hee mistake it as an alarm for Uncle to run away. But it was a false alarm, but uncle was not going to come back. Sun-hee regretted her actions and felt deeply depressed.
(1943-44);(1945)
One day, while Sun-hee was at school, the Americans dropped leaflets. It was the leaflet about the Japanese Imperial Army getting weaker. But at this time, Tae-yul decideed to become a Kamikaze. Although Ahbuji objects his decision, he still went on.
The war was finally over and the Japanese lost the war. But there's still no news of Uncle and Tae-yul.
Three months had past, Tae-yul and Uncle finally came back, and the Kim lived happily ever after.
